Week 24 – The 3 Stages Of The Tribulation

In this study, MacKenzie explains that the Bible describes tribulation in distinct phases, not a single vague future event, and he starts by separating the “tribulation of those days” in Matthew 24 (historic persecution) from the final end-time trouble in Daniel 12. He points to specific signs—Lisbon’s 1755 earthquake, the 1780 “Dark Day,” and the 1833 falling stars—as markers that the earlier tribulation ended just as Jesus said it would be “shortened.” From there, he outlines three coming stages: first, a no-buy/no-sell crisis tied to the mark of the beast alongside escalating judgments meant to awaken repentance while probation remains open. Second, probation closes when Christ’s intercession ends, the seven last plagues begin, and the wicked experience the full “time of trouble” while God’s people are protected. Third, the time of Jacob’s trouble brings a death decree against the faithful, driving them to rely completely on God until deliverance at Christ’s second coming.
